Hey Folks, I have the original GV70 3.5T in Cardiff green and beige interior. Test drove this car when it came out and fell in love with it. During purchase time I was urged to sign up for the extended service packages and the electronics warranty (or something like that?). I told myself I wouldn’t give in and take these up, but I did. It’s three years now and I’m wondering if it’s possible to cancel these packages now and get my money back. I also have a few questions:
- The extended service package apparently only includes tire rotations, oil change and is similar to the free service rendered in the first 3 years. But during signup the dealer told me it also includes premium service items (I don’t recall what she mentioned). So I was clearly lied to. If I’m able to cancel this package what do you think I’d have to pay for servicing routinely outside the dealership and is this recommended?
- I had my 3 year service today and I was also talked into opting for the cleaning of my throttle body and replacement of brake fluids/something else. All this added up to ~$1500. I have 28k miles on the car and I was told this is routinely done at either 36k miles or 3 years. I’m a month away from hitting the 3 month mark. Should I have opted out of this or gotten it done elsewhere?
PS: I live in an apartment and I’ve never worked on a car outside of wiring dashcams, changing engine oil, wheels, etc. So cleaning the throttle body is not something I would be able to do on my own.
