  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all! Nice to meet everyone. I am new here and just want to say that the community here seems awesome and very passionate!

I am a Canadian living in Alberta and looking to purchase the beautiful GV70. However, I am torn between the 3.5 Sport or Sport Plus. The biggest thing I see about the Sport Plus personally is the napa leather, but I want to ask the current Sport or Sport plus owners on their thoughts?

Is the Sport Plus worth the extra cost or is the Sport enough?

Thank you!

I bought Sport... the only thing I really miss is the tech omissions you have to settle for; there are no cameras on the mirrors so you don't get blind spot video in the dash when you're changing lanes or parking views. I don't care for slip differential and I believe the massive price difference between two models is mostly for that.

Thanks Draz. Hows the leather on the sport?

It is leather... I've never touched napa to know the difference. I'm happy with the seats, they have all the same features except the look and the touch of it.. I mean you're sitting on them and tend to forget that part of the car while you're driving, but those tech features would be nice to have.

From Canada myself and I must say the tech is nice to have. If you're on a budget then that would be your deciding factor, however if you aren't then sure go for it as you could be wishing you got the one with them instead. When I first thought of purchasing the car I went thinking I wanted to get the top 2.5T model. When I saw them I instantly knew I would get the 3.5 Sport Plus and driving them made the difference as well. My girlfriend and I went to test drive a 3.5T Sport about 2 weeks after checking out the Sport Plus and her opinion was "this is definitely not the one to get".

Sport Plus all the way.

I have the Sport plus and the price difference was a no brainer for me. The differences go far beyond the the eLSD. -- The nappa leather is soft and high quality, nappa is the highest grade you can get. The mesh in the Sport seats looks cheap.
- The headliner in the Sport plus is in suede. Very soft and luxurious compared to the regular headliner of the Sport.
- The 3D display is wonderful and having the half digital of the Sport makes it look cheap and basic.
- RSPA is a nice feature to show to people and have a laugh but I used it a few times in very tight spots.
- the carbon fiber trim is beautiful and has a 3D effect. It's gorgeous for me but I can see some people not liking it because is not illuminated like the trim in the Sport model.
- Acoustic glass: once you experience this in noise environments and cruising on a highway you will love it. A few weeks ago I gave a ride to a few of my wife friends and they were asking questions about the car and when I mentioned the car had acoustic glass there's was a drummer in the sidewalk and we couldn't hear it, nothing at all, we had to open the window to hear it.
