  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone experienced a flapping noise on the drivers side mid-car at higher speeds - 75-80 mph? Seems to be originating new tween driver seat and back passenger door. The dealership can hear it but say they do not know what is causing it. They looked to see if anything seemed to be loose and said everything was thightened. It only happens at higher speeds so I am assuming it is a wind issue with something.

Sounds to me that you're missing a fastener or two for the covers underneath the car. Not loose enough to cause flapping or vibration at low speeds but higher speeds move the loose sections.

Service tech told me they went over everything and checked that but I’ll have to take it back in to check. Seems like the only obvious answer…

You could get someone to drive behind you at the right distance to be able to see under the car to see if something is flapping around. Every now and then, I see a car with something loose underneath that is wildly oscillating in the wind and wonder how it is that they are unaware of it.

Thanks, that’s a good idea.

I have the same issue. Please post an update if you're able to find the source of the noise.

Yes, I had the issue a few months ago and it was a missing bolt in the undercarriage cover, as is suggested here. They replaced the whole panel and I have been good ever since. I'm pretty sure that is exactly what it is.
