Hi Expert Gurus,
I'm new to the group and live in Canada. I have a question; I need your help determining the type of engine oil for my GV80 3.5L.
According to the owner's manual, it requires 0W-30 with API SN plus/SP or ILSAC GF-6. I have read that API SN Plus is an interim, supplemental specification designed to provide additional protection against Low-Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) in turbocharged gasoline direct-injection (TGDI) engines. I looked for all the descriptions for Penzoil, Quaker State, and Castrol oil, but they all don't have the API SN Plus, except MOBIL 1 Advance Fuel Economy Fully Synthetic.
Is it safe to use Mobil 1, or should I follow the recommended oil in the owner's manual, which is the Quaker State?
