  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,
How much should I expect to pay for a Certified Pre Owned Genesis GV80 (2023) with a few thousand miles? Does anybody know how much GV80's depreciate right out the dealership? I'm getting a quote that is only about $3K less than the MSRP for 2024 GV80s and wanted inputs from experts here for how to determine what is a good price. Would appreciate your inputs.

Does Kelly Blue Book show anything. Usually it doesn't matter who you get the car from, just what car, condition, and how many miles. (I think!)

I think you ought to investigate as to WHY the '23 has only a few thousand miles. Either it was a 'sick puppy' and got, hopefully, fixed, or it was a dealer loaner. In either case I would be leery of buying it; especially since a brand new '24 is only $3k more. Get the '24

If your are inclined to buy this car, I would recommend a Carfax report( I believe a small fee) as it provides its history and its value. A Boston dealer used it to determine my trade-in value. You just need to type in the VIN# of the used vehicle. If the vehicle was in an accident, Carfax will calculate the depreciated value, regardless, of a possible, acceptable repair ( a perfect repair still results in significant depreciation).

One other word of advise, if you purchase a Genesis, you might want to have a backup vehicle for necessary transportation.

They don't depreciate much when nearly new as there remains a waiting list for new vehicles in many areas. I paid $85,000 Cdn for my 2021 Prestige in February 2021 and I'm seeing prices now for that model in the $77,500 range 2 1/2 years later. Of course it depends on the wear and tear, mileage etc. You haven't specified which trim you're interested in. Some are in much higher demand than others.

Thanks for the responses. After some more research, I was able to get KBB prices for CPO and work with the dealership to bring a new GV80 home with me today!!
