  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone ever had trouble with their fan?

I just got my second Genesis. I had a 2009 and just traded into a 2011 when my lease ran out.

I've had my new car about 2 weeks. It was parked in the sun all day yesterday and it was really hot out. When I got in, the fan for the A/C was not working AT ALL and my blue tooth was no longer syncing. It had been fine up until then.

This morning when I got in the car, the fan was working fine again but the phone still wouldn't sync. After repeated tries with the phone, it connected.

But my bigger issue is with the fan. It's parked in the sun again today so we'll see what happens when I get it at the end of the day. I just discovered this forum and am curious to see if this has happened to anyone else. (It never happened with my old Genesis.)

I have a 2011 Genesis 3.8 sedan w/ Prem Nav and I have no problem with the A/C fan. I too park outside in the hot sun while at work, however I have had no problem with the A/C fan not working. Really strange. Sorry I couldn't help you.

I've noticed the fan doesn't come on immediately when the car is hot, but it does come on after a minute or so. I imagine the computer is smart enough not to pump super hot air into the car and waits until the compressor is actually putting out cool air.

Same thing in the winter when the car is really cold. There is a slight delay in the fan until the engine warms up.

going to florida next week i will report back as it isn't hot enough here yet to test it out.

Hi guys,

I took my car in as soon as it happened and they could not identify anything. Then it happened again last night (so 2 nights in a row) so I dropped the car off with the dealer this morning and am now in a rental.

Hopefully it's just some random thing. It never happened with my 2009 Genesis but I did experience that lag thing which it SHOULD do in extreme temperatures.

I'll report back when this is resolved.

Thanks

My dealership fixed it. There was some faulty wiring that they repaired, thankfully. Love my Genesis!
