I am thinking of replacing the speakers on my 2013 3.8 Genesis (base trim package). Has anyone replaced the speakers on their car and if so did it improve the sound and what speakers did you go with?
Thanks.
Thanks.
The OEM audio system is tuned to work with the OEM speakers in the car and the speakers are rated at a specific impedances (and not all the same), and if you change that, the sound will not produce a flat frequency response and may create other problems. Also, different speakers could put a load on the amp that it cannot handle (some amps cannot handle impedances below a certain value).I am thinking of replacing the speakers on my 2013 3.8 Genesis (base trim package). I would try and get a replacement from an online junk yard. There were three different audio systems for the Genesis in that model year, although some speakers "may" be the same for the two Lexicon models (14-speaker and 17-Speaker), but obviously not all the speakers are the same, especially on the Base Trim level 7-speaker system.Sorry for bringing this old thread back. you probably dont own the car anymore lol. But I measured the impedance on the rear door speakers, since one of them is blown. It is a 3 ohm speaker so replacing it with a regular 4 ohm should not make much of difference. did you ever replaced yours?
