  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone seen one of these in action?

Ended up going with a MGT Motorsports mount. Kinda pricey but appears to be very versatile and a 30 day money back guarantee.

I'm going to try it too, should arive on Monday.

Cool. I spoke with the guy and sent him a pic of the Rear view mirror and he did not see a problem with the mount working.

Guys - Please post your review after you get the brackets. I would like to get one too if you recomend them.

Guys you need to me more cognizant of where to put your threads.... It's obvious this doesn't belong in the Genesis forum. I'm moving it to Lounge.

You can't expect everything to be dumped in the Genesis forum.

Sorry Elm. I recieved the mount the other day and installed it on my rear view mirror. It took me a little while to get the mount on the mirror, I discovered the easiest way was to leave one side of the Allen bolts connected and simply slide the mount over the post and tighten down. I'm getting the unit hard wired today but so far highly recommended. The unit is suprisingly small but very durable and has multitude of adjustments for the perfect fit. Though pricey I think it will stand the test of time. I'll post pics in the next day or so.

What do you think Mark?

PM me with any questions.

Here is a picture. I still need to adjust the bracket, but you get the idea.

Looks nice. When I saw you post this originally, I almost bought one. For me though, it's too low and blocks too much of the road. May be due to my height. I still prefer my position...

I do like that. Seems like it would be hidden pretty well from curious eyes. Is your rear detection sensor blocked? My picture maybe deceiving the unit actually hangs less than a half inch below the Rear View and at 5' 10 height is not a real problem for me

Rear detection is unobstructed. There is clear line-of-sight to the rear horizon.

that's the one. If you end up purchasing the mount; during installation I would recommend leaving one of the Alan bolts loosened up a good bit but not off (so yo can swing the mounting collar over the rear view mirror stem), remove the second. The space behind the RVM is pretty tight and this will make it easier to tighten down the one side and then add the second Alan bolt once you have snugged up the Alan bolt you left connected. PM if you have any problems.

No problems (range reduction/interference) with the windshields wire mesh? Where did you hard wire the power? Just curious because I haven't permanently mounted my detector... yet.

No problems at all. The 9500ix has incredible range from both the front and rear and the mesh has no effect. I don't believe it is metallic but rather a synthetic compound. In my neighborhood, there are currently two side-of-the-road radar/speed trailers (the ones that display your speed to slow you down). I checked the range both front and rear and they both are great.

The wire runs along the top of the windshield towards the drivers A-frame. Then down and around to the fuse box. I have pictures of how it wired and to which fuse in my "Album" There is also a thread where several of us discuss the project.

Got mine installed just before going on vacation; so no pics yet ( or of the KDM airbad ). It's a nice solid piece; probably could be a few dollars less for what it is, but it does excactly what it's supposed to, so won't grip. Space is a little tight behind the mirror, so install is a little bit of a hastle, but you only need to do it once, for a long time. I'm very pleased with the device!!

For now the coiled cord is still hanging down to the cig lighter; but it's out of my way now, which it wasn't with the suction cups. Will have to correct that as myh next project next week.

If the price doesn't bother you, it's a great kit, compleat with everything you need and a few usefull spare parts.
