  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well guys good bad whatever.

The Rspec hasnt seen over 80 ... getting mellow in my old age.

Browsing the bmw forums ... (thread now deleted)

guy with his family in the car wanted to race a challenger RT
Which he did... and then went on the forums to brag about it...

needless to say top speed 155MPH and held it for 30 secondsand it was night time to boot...
155MPH with his family in the car... UH... UH ?

hell i remember reading a msg of some dude in a M5 asking questions on the forums and the next day he took his car to a runway and it achieved flight ... completly destroyed car and he was killed also... from my recollection he had others in the car ...

friendly service msg...

keep it resonable on the roads.

Good thing you mentioned this. Yesterday at the 110 freeway some twat with his nissan GTR went crazy speeding. He went around +100 on a 55MPH limit

the difference between 55 and 100 is not so big in a GT-R, maybe 2 seconds...

sometimes I notice going from 30 to 80 before I look down and put the brakes on and that's with just a V6.

With power comes responsibility...and a much faster speedometer movement.

I briefly saw 110 a couple of days ago. Freeway with no traffic in front-------doesn't take very long to get there from 70!!!! By the way it was pulling, I don't doubt the 155.

I just tend to take a lot of what I read 'in the forums' as related to "I had my car up to _________ (fill in blank from 155 to a bazillion) miles an hour" as just braggadocio.

Yeah he was a member of the M5 board that I was a member of. He was doing in access of 190 MPH. and three other people died with him. But to be fair, given equal circumstances, an accident that would put most people in a body bag, if driving an BMW you will probably walk away from it.

not sure where your information comes from but BMW's don't have a 5 star crash rating all around, I've seen em with 3 stars as well.

Probably want to re-check your sources.

^ I know and can agree... howerver i also know how potent a tuned 335i is... so 155 is a blink of an eye.

Ok guys, I have hit 150+ on my street motorcycle. What matters here is WHERE you do it. Going fast in or on a good machine does no harm. I have a stretch of almost 5 miles straight with no cross streets or entrances. Great for a quick snort up to 100+. There are responsibilities when you go fast. You must be SURE you won't have to deal with other drivers. No blasting while in town, period. Freeways have lots of entrances where some pokeypants can decide to take the fast lane as soon as they enter. I would also avoid speeding on any of the California freeways that have the HOV lane to the center. Basicly the rule is if you are going fast or overtaking you are responsible to keep things safe regardless of how stupid another driver may be. Be safe by being aware of what is going on around you. Lastly, no impairments. No blasting after even 1 drink or while sipping your morning cofee! Have fun, stay safe.

0 to 235mph in 14 seconds.

FOURTEEN SECONDS.

That is one hell of a launch, buddy. One would likely have to wear a "Depends", lest he soil those individually-handcrafted seats.

There was a credit to the Navy-------probably a very long runway somewhere. You notice he got out of the gas at 2 miles.

I went back to the video. It was at Lemoore Navy air station. Very, very wide runways that are 13,500' long (2.55 miles). He would have had to be pulling close to 1 G deceleration to get stopped before he ran out of concrete----------------and hope that the brakes didn't fade or fail!!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
When I was younger and dumber I had my TL up to 145 in west Texas, but the TL felt more stable at speed than the Genesis. I've calmed down a lot and rarely go over 10 over in the Genesis.

It said somewhere he got up to 235 in a mile. Having said that... it probably took another mile to get up to top speed LOL
