  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Welcome. I moved your message out of the forum lounge and updated the title to draw attention from people who've experienced your issue. Your previous title probably would not have given anyone any incentive to click through to read your message.

I have a 2015 and no problem with gas pump shutting off. You may need to reposition the nozzle with the tip all the way in and the hose and handle end down low.

Before this happened, did you have a habit of topping the tank off after the pump stopped?
It could be that the vent canister is soaked with gasoline or otherwise clogged. Also, there is a particular spider that likes to make its home in fuel vent hoses, which can clog them. There's also a vent solenoid that could be stuck closed. Is the check engine light on?

Sorry I'm getting back to you late, got busy. No check engine light, but I have noticed a drop in fuel efficiency and a lot of difficulty pumping gas. As far as over filling it, I did not; however, I bought the car 6 month ago and had some issues putting gas. Lately, its terrible, it takes me almost 10 minutes to fill.

As joegr above... Most likely the vapor canister is clogged due to topping off the fuel after the pump handle clicks off. When pumping, the fuel displaces the air in the tank through the vapor canister to absorb the gas fumes so they don't vent to outside air. EPA stuff. The filter charcoal in the canister can handle fumes but not raw gasoline.

Just remembered... It could also be the purge valve or solenoid control valve attached to that system. Someone here recently asked about the (purge valve) noise coming from the trunk when starting the car. If you don't hear that occasionally, that may be a clue.
