HD radio

Have a 12 r-spec sedan, anyone else have problems tuning HD stations? My car will not pick up HD signals during the late morning early afternoon, early mornings and evenings and week ends work fine.

I haven't seen that issue, but I've found them extremely sensitive to range. I also found the fact that the volume would vary dramatically as signal strength would vary, which was so annoying that I pretty much only listen to XM and iPod.

Thanks for the response, I pretty much travel only in the Minneapolis metro area not much driving out of the city. I wonder if I have a bad antenna?

I live in Prior Lake and travel the metro extensively. I never have any problem with HD reception. I'd take it in to the dealer.

I just bought the new 2013 ford escape and stumbled upon this thread because I am having the same issue with my hd radio. Like you I live in the twin cities, well within range of the hd signal. Hd shows up in the morning and weekends, but disappears in the afternoon. So maybe it isn't your car, but an hd or shoreview tower problem.

Maybe, I live in lino lakes and travel to Roseville for work.

Im not a radio station engineer... though my buddy is. My past convo's with him were AM at certain times of the day, especially across water could travel across the ocean. Just the opposite with FM and HD, its possible different times of the day would affect performance, not to mention transmitter work (or problems).
