Same thing is happening randomly in my 2 gen 5.0. Itll be 15F degrees out but sometimes reads up to 126F. Luckily it hasn't happened in a while. I found out when it does happen if i just turn my heat all the way up to high it'll blow hot air. Not a fix but a worth a try.I had a similar issue twice with my 2014 Genesis both times under warranty. It was in February of 2015 and 2016. The external temperature was below freezing but the screen showed it was 65 degrees F and turned my heat off and was blowing cold air. Took it to the dealer and they said it was a bad outside temp sensor located in the front left cowl which was cracked. It happened again and they replaced it with an improved model in Feb 2016 and haven't had an issue since. Hope this helps...JP
The dealership told me they sensors were cracking and getting coated with ice but sensor was picking the engine heat somehow? I was slightly confused. I couldn't get my heat high enough to stay warm even with the seat heat on. Fortunately I carry insulated pants and boots in the car during the winter months.Same thing is happening randomly in my 2 gen 5.0. Itll be 15F degrees out but sometimes reads up to 126F. Wow! A member by the screenname joegr gave me alot of good info on it. the 2nd gens sensor is in the sideview. I believe the same thing happened to mine after a car wash or maybe its a frayed wire. The dealership told me they sensors were cracking and getting coated with ice but sensor was picking the engine heat somehow?
