Had the AC running yesterday and halfway home the temp gauge started climbing.
I turned the AC off and the gauge went down to just above normal.
Popped the hood at home and fan was running and no hissing leaking sounds
Any thoughts/advice?

Not enough information
How far did the gauge move? Was it near overheating or just a bit above?
With temperature on the road 95+ and heavy solar load, the AC is working hard and moving that heat to the radiator that cools the engine. Not unusual for it to be hotter.

If it was extreme and near overheating, I'd check the cooling system. Has it ever been flushed and coolant changed?
