  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
1G Genesis Coupe (2009-2016)
2010 Genesis 3.8 sedan. Drivers side heated/cooled indicator lights come on for a few seconds, then go out. Seat neither heats nor cools. Dealer says thermocouple needs replacing but will not assure that it will fix problem. Any ideas?

I just had the exact same thing happen. Might be the breather tubes getting crushed and overheating the unit. Haven't taken mine apart or to the dealer yet though. Let me know if you have any other ideas of what it might be.

Probably going to be an electrical problem. I had same. It was thermocouples. There are two of them, one for seatback, and seatbottom. One alone will shut it down. Bill ended up about $1k. Fortunately, I had purchased additional warranty with car. Cost me considerably less. Hyundai did not spend enough time engineering the seats. Dealer mechanic contacted them, with no good results. The dealer and I struck a deal, where they practiced on the seat, without charging me all the extra time involved. I suspect that the dealer had not seen this problem before. end result, I had seat repaired for about $250.00, with additional service package, and dealer not charging me for their learning curve.
Good luck to both of you!
