  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi there,

Deanna here.. I recently came across this forum..
Im new to this site.. I use to own a 1995 Z28 Camaro that I built and raced ( sold it when I fell in love with my current car. I bought my car last year.. Love it..

I need some help... I need front brake pads and rotors
where can I find at a good price for my Brembo Brakes?
Dealer wants around $500.00...ugh.. help please

I searched through alot of websites to find the rotors and brake pads and there are only a few places that sell them online.

tirerack.com sells them for about $400 front rotors only.

I haven't been able to find any Brembo brake pads. Even still, if the labor, time, and brake pads costs $100, I'd rather have the dealership do the labor. Plus you get that guarantee, if anything goes wrong with your brakes or discs, it's the dealerships fault vice if you buy the parts and install yourself, only you are at fault.

Crazy how going through the dealership is your better option because most times it's not. Besides, changing out your own brake pads is easy but the brembo brake calipers have 4 pistons instead of the standard 1 piston. Brembo parts on your genesis are high performance and it's better to have the dealership mess with those expensive parts if you're not a pro mechanic and car aficiando.

Hope this helps

thank you sooo much for the information, truly appreicated... I talked to the part guy at the dealership and he sid the pads come from Italy and hard to get.. they use their own brand and under the table he side 'Hawk were a better brake pad".
thanks again..

If you're interested in possibly buying parts online and then taking them to a shop to install, you might try price shopping Rotorpros. Email Rich, richard@rotorpros.net and see what options he can get you for your car. The rotors are Centric blanks, and you get get plain, slotted, drilled, or drilled/slotted.

I got 4 slotted rotors and pads for my infiniti for around $250, and did the install myself, saving a ton of money.

I found that Brake performance (online) has cross drilled/slotted rotors with pads for $200.00. Without the pads it is around $150.

Rockauto.com has pads for the Brembo brakes for $32 or less per end and rotors for $60 or less per wheel with several brands available. I have used them for years and they are good. Sometimes next day to east coast with no additional charge.

Great news - I got "Hawk" Cermic pads on Tire Rack.com...$129.00
I put them on myself... tooo easy..... I was assisted by the staff at the Auto Hobby shop on McGuire Air Force Base..
saved loads of money.. you can use the tools and lift for $4.00 per hour and they turn the rotors...Yahoooooo

love it..

thank you all for your help
