  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello- I am new to the forum- but have had my coupe for 5 years. I have a question- and it is more of asking everyone's experience if they have had to have the tensioners replaced- mine is making noise at start up at 85k. Dealer believes it is the tensioner/tensioners chain. My warranty company came in and listened and inspected- they confirmed noise. They have asked the shop to tear down to point where the tensioner timing chain and cam "actuators" can be seen. I assume they are looking for actual play in the chain and to see if the tensioner is not functioning properly- along with looking for "sludge". Is this standard operating procedure from the standpoint of the warranty company asking me to authorize the teardown- I personally think it is bullshit. But my dealer is certain that it is the tensioner failing. Thanks and hello.
