HELP!!! 2012 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 sedan battery light on

hello i own 2012 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Sedan 126000 miles on it . battery light came on Suddenly. the multimedia screen intermittently says please turn engine on so battery doesn't discharge. Is there a separate voltage regulator??? and or is the voltage computer controlled???

Your alternator has failed.

I recently replaced the alternator in my '12, and it exhibited the exact same symptoms.

+1 on alternator failed. This happened to me last week. I have a 2011 4.6. I replaced it myself in my apt complex parking lot with a buddy of mine with one we picked up at a local parts store and its working fine so far. good luck!
