  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey, all. I'm still rolling my '09 3.8 with high miles (about 165k). Bought in '12 and have taken all up and down the east coast with minimal maintenance. Until a few months ago she was the perfect car. Then my problems started after a long road trip. Stopped for gas and then she wouldn't start back up: kept turning over and over but wouldn't fully start. Without being too long winded I've been through:

1) changing crankshaft sensor
2) multiple changes of fuel pump including the entire fuel pump assembly
3) taken to dealership multiple times; each time without them being able to replicate the problem.

After the last pump/assembly change, the car was back to running like a dream for a month or two and then more weirdness. The seatbelt light and key indicator lights on the car kept popping up, as if whatever sensors there are for those weren't recognizing that the seatbelts were in use or the key was in the car. That was only a minor annoyance until one day I started driving the car and the engine shut down completely! Since then, the engine shut down/cutoff problem has happened multiple times to the point where I'm not real comfortable driving it. But at the same time: when the car shutoff problem started, the key/seatbelt light went away.

All that leads me to believe (hope) that this is some sensor or harness or wiring issue that could be relatively simple or inexpensive to fix. These things all seem to be happening in tandem with each other and otherwise, I have had no issues with the car at all. Anyone experienced anything even remotely similar or have ideas (and sorry for the long post)?
