  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In the Genesis I think I have found a great daily driver and a car I will thoroughly enjoy driving for years to come. At this time I am looking to replace the spot held by the GT500 for something more enjoyable. I have narrowed it down to the following cars:

1. Nissan GTR - pros are AWD, room for kids in the rear, and the wife can drive this in a pinch
2. 997 Porsche Carrera 4s - love the Porsche build quality and driving experience. The styling is also classic and the AWD paired with a manual makes this a front runner
3. Mercedes CLK63 AMG - an absolute hammer - very rare and would be a hoot to drive - RWD obviously but the uniqueness of this car make me seriously consider it.

Each has its pros and cons, the Genesis will get me back and forth to work every day and the new car would be for rallies, drives, and just having some fun. The Shelby had 720hp at the wheels so I feel confident in my ability to handle any of the above. The budget is right around 60k and these are all right there. Let me know what you think - Its always great to hear from those that may have experience with these cars!

Not on the list, but this would work too.

Porsche Panamera GTS

Just a thought

true, but I don't think I'd like having a 4 door car that large for the fun car.

My vote would be for the GTR. But that is one helluva good list. I don't think you can go wrong with any car you choose from that list.

Disclaimer: I have driven none of these cars except in Gran Turismo or Forza. But I sure have drooled.

GTr will beat the pants off of them in the straight line or in the twisties. It really is about what you wanna do with the car but my vote is GTr

Mercedes E63 Coupe is another hammer.

I wish, I'd be all over that.

Maybe Toyota will green light the FT-1.

CLK 63 AMG or GTR. It's a toss up depending on if you want track-ability or creature comforts in your supercar.

More comfort than trackability. GTR wins that easily.

I have driven both and I preferred the CLK 63 for comfort **shrug**.

The GTR is a comfortable ride, but not like the MB.

MB reliability concerns me, it's also the only one that isn't AWD

Why is no AWD a concern?

Don't you have a winter beater?

I live in the south, winter beaters are not necessary here. AWD is preferable because of the fashion the car is used - road rallies and enjoyable drives year round. As with my GT500, the car would be driven quite hard and the AWD allows me to enjoy the car in more weather than what I currently have. You can see from my signature that I have plenty of options on what to drive, this car will be the fun car of the bunch.
