  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hey guys i need some advice ASAP..

I got a pretty good deal on a used Genesis and i want to pull the trigger but i also want to get info regarding warranty..

the dealer is a non Hyundai dealer and its not CPO or anything.

What will i lose(warranty) if i buy it?

Could I add HPP Platinum to it?

Will i lose 3 years sirius/xm or road side assistance?

Is there anything else i should be aware of?

Thank you to everyone in advance. All info is greatly appreciated. If all works out i should be buying it this weekend

The only thing you lose is that it cannot be a CPO when not sold by a Hyundai dealer. But the dealer will charge about $1000 more for a CPO car, because they have to pay Hyundai a fee for the extra CPO warranty on the drivetrain (which is only available to original owners if not CPO). Not all used Hyundai's sold by dealers are CPO.

But you can purchase your own Hyundai Platinum Extended Warranty on any used Hyundai, at any Hyundai dealer. The lower the mileage, the cheaper the extended warranty cost.

Thank you for the reply. I'm glad I can add HPP to it. Been shopping for this car for a long time and this will be the newest car I have ever had.

keep in mind the powertrain warranty for the second owner is only 5yr/60k rather than the 10yr/100k for the original owner.

Correct, but it is restored if the car is CPO, or (obviously) if one gets the HPP Platinum Extended Warranty.

I just bought my 2011 4.6 last month from a Penske Mazda Dealer.

I bought the extended warranty from United Auto Care which is also owned by Penske. 5 yr, 60K miles from the 31850 it had when I bought it. I have the remaining 8 months on the original factory warranty.

I generally like buying from the dealership I will be taking the car to for service for rapport reasons. In my experience they tend to keep customers that do business there and send business there happy. That being said much of this has to do with the quality of the people employed by the dealership. Hope you pick up a Genesis either way!

Woohoo I got the car yesterday. What do I do now? Lol. Bluelink?sat radio?

Congratulations. Yes,you can call bluelink and XM and see if they will give you any free trial, unlikely but worth a try. Else paid.

Tell us about the car, and the compelling deal you got.

How many miles?

Rear wing? Pix of that?

For that price & miles however - you would have been able to get a CPO Tech from a Hyundai dealer. In fact - I bet you could have gotten it for under 36k at less than 10k miles. From a non-dealer, non-CPO & also being un-extendable on HPP - I wouldn't have paid more than 32k for it - regardless the miles. Just my $.02

Any vehicle that is still under the manufacturer's basic warranty can buy their extented protection plan like HPP.
