  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2010 4.6 Tech package has the drivers seat reclined all the way back and is stuck. The switch will not move the seat back at all. I tried starting the car and shutting it off but to no avail. I had this issue under warranty and now it's back. Is there a TSB or what on this issue?[/B]

Thanks!

Try to do a reset of your car by pulling out the master fuse which is yellow. It's located on the driver side of the dash, so open up your door to access it. Pull the fuse and install back into the car after 10 minutes or so and report back if this fixed the issue.

Took the car to the dealership last night. Under warranty (5 years ago) they had already replaced the seat track. $2000 cost. They tell me the seat back motor is dead! To fix they cannot just order a motor they have to replace the entire seat track again! No way am I going to pay $2k to fix this issue. I have past experience with recovering car seats so last night I pulled the seat and found the seat back limiting switch was tripped and not allowing the motor to operate. Removed the two screws holding the switch in place and reconnected the seat. Seat back started to work again. Reassembled the seat and tested. Works! Not going to test the limiting switch again with the seat back together. 4 hours to fix! Saved $2000.

Now onto the Compustar Remote start and alarm install!

Good job. I do the same when something like this is dead. I figure I can't make it worse so why not look for the problem. Also, you may can get a switch from a salvage yard.

I was just wondering what he was doing with the seat back all the way back like that?? ;-) ;-)

It's really not that unusual. I recline them all the way when the wife is shopping or if I'm waiting for an appointment. It doesn't happen often for me but there's nothing strange about it.
