  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys and thank you in advance for any advice. So I'm having a problem with the dial on my central control.. the Navi, FM, XM, Disc, Aux control dial. I was having a problem with it not responding when I push down on it but now that seems to be functioning okay again at least for the moment , whereas now my new problem is if I turned the dial it no longer scrolls. I'm using the button on the left side of the steering wheel to navigate up and down which works in some instances, for example tuning the radio or selecting a different song on CD but important functions like controlling my audio settings like bass treble front and back along with navigating files from my USB will not work with this quick fix. I went ahead and tried to purchase a used control unit from LKQ but the part they sent was in bad shape and the buttons we're not depressing well. So I was considering purchasing the part online but wanted to check here on this forum for advice before proceeding. Here's a few question I'm hoping one or more of you can help me with.

Has anybone had the same problem and if so what did they do to address it ? Do I need to replace just the knob or should I get the entire control unit with buttons included ? If so has anyone purchased that refurbished version of this online for $225 us from Korea ? I've read some DIY installs on this.. any recommendations should I try it myself or take it to the dealership ? Once again thank you in advance for your effort and time.
