  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Everyone,

I'm attempting to fix some minor rust on the rear wheel arch, and I want to make sure I'm not screwing up with the paint colour! Apparently the paint code on my '09 Genesis is "AF". I find it turning up search results for "Black Pearl Noir" and "Phantom Black" :S

Here in Canada, the only thing I've been able to find so far is:https://www.amazon.com/ColorRite-Ae...automotive&vehicleId=2&vehicleType=automotive

Does anyone know - Is "AF" paint just "AF" paint? It says this listing is for a 2013 Equus. When I put in my car's info it says it does not "fit". I'm hoping it's the exact same black.

Anybody? :( It lists this as "AF (2013)".... is there a difference in AF paints from Hyundai or are they all the same black? There are also some listings that say Elantra AF, etc. Is it the same AF black as the 2009 Genesis? I'm really having a hard time finding the right product in order to do this job.

I'd truly appreciate any insight! Thank you.

Look at the sticker inside your driver's door, you will find your car paint color code there.

Thank you for your response. Yes, this is where I found the "AF" paint code, originally. I just wasn't sure if all "AF" is the same within the Hyundai lineup? It seems they use it for the Equus, Elantra, Sante Fe, etc.

The listing I found for the paint says "AF 2013", so I thought maybe it was even different through the years.

Believe the paint codes are the same for all years but not 100%. Surely a dealer would be able to answer that question.

Thanks! My dealer is incredibly useless, unfortunately. I'll try an out of town dealer and see if they can be of any help - haha.

Best dealer I've ran across is Parkway Hyundai in Wilmington NC. Casey Smith is the Manager.
