  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I and a huge DIY guy! I love doing things on my own and saving money not having someone else do what I can with the right know how. I installed a set of 10k in my low beams and a set of 3ks in my fogs. They look awesome!uploadfromtaptalk1396400205001.webp

Congrats on your new useless foglights, reduced night visibility, and for being "that guy" who blinds all other drivers on the road. But it looks cool right? Totally worth it!

Its not about you or what you think...its MY car and its paid in full SO in that case I can do what I damn well please to it, don't really care how you feel cause at the end of the day....I hope you're the one I'm blinding! #you=noimportance

And ALSO...you must NOT know about 3K HID and what 'yellow' light do in visibility. Don't have facts...quit crying over blinding 3ks

Technically you're correct. That doesn't make you less of an ass for it. I have 100w driving lights (think lighting a football field) on my 2nd car for dealing with inconsiderate drivers. ;)

Pot calling kettle black. It's not the color of the light that makes them completely useless in poor weather, it's the AMOUNT of light. HIDs, no matter what color, put out too much light for use in fog. Why do you think no reputable automotive lighting company (Hella, Cibie, PIAA, etc) makes HID fog lamps? Ever driven in heavy snow or fog with your brights on? Same effect. A wall of light that hinders your vision. Not that it matters much because your low beams are purple and won't be able to see anything anyways through all that scattering glare. You should have opted for selective yellow halogen lights. Less glare because they actually fit in the optics correctly and get aimed how they are supposed to and they don't emit too much light.

Not to mention that more light in clear weather is also bad no matter how you slice it. Your pupils constrict to take in the extra light that's too close to the car to see anything with and takes away from your ability to see down range. Again, with purple low beams you're already hurting in distance vision. Even though it technically emits a great amount of measurable light, the human eye strains (physically) to see light on the blue end of the visible light spectrum because it scatters so readily. Less of the light makes to the end of the beam and that that does is less useful to you.

You probably called out the wrong person for lack of research on this topic.
