  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Car: 2015 Genesis 5.0 @ 45k miles

Tire: BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S @ 12k miles

I have annoying issue of high pitch/humming sound that is not loud. but definitely audible that comes in 3+- 65mph but phases out starting 70mph. Tires are no near to be completed and I do not believe I have alignment issue.

I brought the car to dealer last time and they suspect the tires, but I am concern if the noise comes from other sources (bearings, driveshaft, etc.). It is most annoying that it is so prevalent on normal highway speed but do not want to shell out for new tires just yet. I will probably have the car alignment checked / tire balanced first but wanted to know if other people had the same issue.

I've had similar issues with other cars, one was tires. Check the tires for cupping or unusual wear. Could be a lot of things. I had one car with a transmission whine at some speeds. It still did when I scrapped it with almost 200k on it. See if you can get someone to ride with you and listen out the windows.

Get the driveshaft and the differential replaced; this is the real reason; i have had the same with my g80/2015 3.8L in Dubai and that did the trick.
Tires condition and calibration is a secondary reason for that. Good luck!
