  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Climate control blower?

Climate control blower?
Ah, probably heating fan. Could be a bearing going, thus the kicking starts it or a relay.

No, no fun
Please look up the definitions/spelling of fun, fan, and blower and answer back. I assume English is not your language.

Google Translate works well. I use it often.

Google Translate bone funkcias. Mi uzas ĝin ofte.

Google Translate funciona ben. Úsoo a miúdo.

Define "does not work"?
No air at all or just no hot air?

If kicking the underside of the passenger dash area makes the fan motor run then you need a new fan motor. As they wear out, a dead spot occurs where the electrical contact brushes push against the rotating commutator of the motor. There are many windings in the motor... one will go bad before the rest. If the fan happens to stop with that winding lined up with the brushes then the motor won't start again. Wiggling/shaking it is enough to get the brushes to contact the next winding and the motor will run.

Replacement is remarkably easy. Several aftermarket fan motors exist too. Not all are as quiet as the factory original though; I don't have info on which are "loud vs. quiet" or "good vs. bad" ones. Remove the lower cover of the dash and you'll see the black plastic assembly with the motor... 3 screws and an electrical connector to remove it. The "squirrel cage" style fan comes out along with the motor. Some aftermarket motors have a new fan, others require you to move the fan from the old motor to the new one. The original factory motor is very difficult to open - replacing just the contact brushes is likely not possible.
