  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A friend has a 2013 2.0T coupe. He hit something and put a hole in his transmission pan. Car is now up on stands with the pan off. New one was $158! from the dealer. Question... how much fluid will this take to refill after what was pretty much a transmission drain?

This should be covered by insurance as a road hazard. That said, the capacity and type of transmission fluid needed is in the owner's manual.

I'm not concerned about how he's paying for it. There's no owners manual, purchased used, or obviously I would have checked that. That said, do you know how much fluid it takes?

Is the transmission manual or automatic?

Automatic, assumed that was understood, as manuals don't have pans, per se.

It took me less than 3 min. to find it on internet.

If you go to www.myhyundai.com and register your car, you can get access to online owners manual.
