  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I first saw the hood badge I felt like it looked like an add on and didn't really fit..so I decided no to the hood badge.

The more I look at this I'm starting to think something's missing. Leaning more towards putting the hood badge on.

I'm guessing the forum is 50-50 on the hood badge? Has anyone at first ruled it out, then decided later to add it? Anyone added the badge and then changed their mind and yanked it off?

Decisions...decisions

Mine is going on the instant I park that car in my garage. The front is missing a badge, and on THIS car... that badge belongs on the hood.

Completes the look IMHO - but yeah, it's one of those polarizing things, this.

I tried it on my 2010 4.6 and removed with in a couple of hours, the car never left my garage with it on. I really do not care for hood ornaments nor letters in the grill but just thought that I would give it a try. I like the clean look of the hood and grill of the Genesis.
Not having the hood ornament IMO sure makes cleaning and waxing easier. If you decide to try it , do not take to long on making a decision to keep it or take it off. The longer it stays on the greater the odds of discoloration or a ghost impression (shadow) of the emblem being left in the paint.

Since Korean Genesis does have wing on the front and front badge comes with posts that need to be removed, I wonder what were the reasons Hyundai intentionally didn't include any ornament in the front? If they pit "H" in the back, why didn't they put it in the front? Not that I'm complaining, just curious.

Okay. True story. Driving down the 101 in LA I was passed by a Sonata with the Genesis wing badges. It was laughable because the Sonata hood has an oval in the lid to accomodate the "H" symbol. The wings didn't fit. At that moment I thought, "There goes the neighborhood" and made the decision that when I get my 4.6 the "H" stays loud and proud.

It was a marketing decision for North America.
They wanted people to be curious about the car and to actually have a closer look around back, then find the 'H'!

I'm not putting a hood badge on. Only the matte black trunk badge. It was obviously designed to NOT have a badge on the front.

No hood badge for me even though I think it looks OK. BTW, I saw an Equus with the wing thingy hood ornament on the street - I just don't care for it at all.

No hood badge, no steering wheel badge, and rims go untouched. I only put the trunk badge on my 2011 4.6 in Cabernet Pearl.
I prefer subtle changes.

I have the Genesis wing wheel caps. Not touching the steering wheel.

I'm not trying to hide the fact that it's a Hyundai. In fact, I'm quite proud of that fact. I just think the wing badges look cooler.

I don't need a Hood Badge, because I've got one on my Grill.

That is a pretty interesting compromise! I'm not real keen on the mesh grills but the wing badge fits better there on yours than on the hood. Have to look at this for awhile

Where did you get the grill with the wings from very nice.

Found this picture on another thread... side by side, the car without the hood badge looks bare.

The other car maybe the badge is too high up and should be more connected to the chrome strip on the grill?

any thoughts on these 'carbon fiber' badges. At first I thought they were cool looking but the more I look at it Im not so sure.

I think they may look OK if you have other carbon fiber trims, like carbon fiber pillars or door handles. Also, I think they will look better on platinum or titanium color than on any other. Alone, not so sure. I do really like black wing, but only on the black car. There are also gold wings, for someone who likes golden accessories.

Interesting... Thanks for posting the photos. From my perspective this photo solidified my desire to not install the front badge.

Cheers
