  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My car came with the bird already installed on the hood, but I was wondering if it was just stuck on, or if was fastened on with pins? I have seen write ups about installing them if your car didn't have it, but since I bought this used, I have no idea if it was from the factory and if it was...how it was installed.

Not installed at factory for US or Canadian versions. Could have been added by dealer or original owner.

It helps if the emblem is warm before your try to remove it. You can use a hair dryer (be careful to not overheat it) or at least leave it out in the sun. You can remove any residual glue with GooGone (regular, not professional version),

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Another good tip is to leave the car out in the sun for a few hours to get the tape it's held on with nice and warm. Much easier to remove. Hair dryer works too just don't hold it on there too long.

The package I purchased from Korea, the hood bird has two alignment pins that require drilling or filing them off. If dealer installed, may have drilled them. I would be careful not to cost myself 4-500 dollars of repair over an emblem. Just saying...

A dealer is not going to be stupid enough to drill holes in the hood. They read this forum just like anyone else. A dealer gets them from the same place we do, as they are not parts imported by HMA.

Worst case is that he would have to buy a new wing and reinstall it.

I popped it off no problem and no pins....whew!

I was just trying to help. If you want to get defensive then you answer all of the questions...know it all....
