  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just picked up my GV70 and noticed a very slight difference between the hood and front quarter panels. It is only a slight difference visually. The left side overlaps the gap between hood and panel. The right side is almost flush. I don't have calipers, but I'm guessing 1/16 - 3/16" difference between the two sides. Does anyone else have this "issue?" I'm curious if it's occurring with other vehicles and/or am I being too picky. Thanks

Hah. One of the first things my mom pointed out when I brought it by her house to show her. I think I read something about the rubber pads under the hood being able to be shifted to correct this but I could be mistaken.

This is a widely reported design quirk (many YouTube reviewers have pointed it out). There's no issue with your vehicle.

I read it is a design feature to help enhance the vertical look of the front end.

I noticed my hood vibrating when at high speed with wind and on-coming trucks. I'd call it a design flaw.

I took the car above 100mph a few times to check vibration issue. I didn't experience any vib.

I too noticed the hood flutter driving about 70 MPH back (after purchasing my vehicle). My GV70 also has a pretty bad hood alignment, driver side looks like the hood isn't shut all the way.

I also noticed the hood alignment was pretty bad on the G90 sitting on the showroom floor.

Interior fit and finish on these Genesis may be excellent, but they really need to pay attention outside as well.

I've sent a message to Genesis through MyGenesis regarding the issue since the dealer website only allows me to choose scheduled maintenance options to schedule. We'll see what they say

The best way to schedule anything is to call. Especially these days that dealers are very busy and waits can be long.

Like @EdP says: Call or you are setting yourself up to be disappointed.

Yes, mine is like that too.

If you notice it without looking for misalignment, I'd say it's an issue and should be addressed. I actually wanted Genesis to know ahead of time just so they know I am serious about it, so I had them contact the dealer to schedule an appointment instead of scheduling it myself. Mine is a 01/22 build.

Went to pick up my ordered 2023 GV70 today and noticed the bad drivers side hood alignment... The sales person basically said there is nothing he can do. I said its a flaw and needs to be fixed, he said based on his experience Genesis won't do anything. So, I didn't purchase the vehicle.... That was just a sign of things to come....

From what I've read on this forum, you can adjust the rubber stoppers under the hood to tighten and align it better. It is somewhat adjustable.

The rubber stoppers can help a bit but ultimately the adjustment needs to be made at the pivot points in the rear corners of the engine bay. You need a ratchet, 12mm socket and an extension. I have done it to a few customers cars and takes about 10 minutes adjusting and opening and closing the hood to check alignment.

I've asked to have this remedied as my driver's side clearly has a bigger gap then every other one I've seen. Hopefully they can get it close leaves get stuck in there all the time. Definitely not the worst problem with transfer case replaced and waiting on a new differential due August 6th.

I hear you above 80mph looks like it wants to fly off

Hello, I recently purchased mine and have been in a battle to try to get this fixed. The hood of my vehicle shakes a lot and the dealerships can 'do nothing about it'. Corporate refused to move forward with assistance or buyback. Anyone else experiencing this. Extremely disappointing for a 'luxury' car
