Hood wing emblem installation

I'm 19 years old and just bought my V-8 black on black genesis tech package.

I am mechanically inclined and was wondering the best possible way to properly install the KDM wing emblem on the hood of the car.

I have already grinded down the back posts.
I was also wondering if I should add another strip of sticky tape in the inner groove.

any particular measurements starting from either the top of the hood? or the top of the grille?
