how can i make my 3.8 sound better?

what can i do to make my 3.8 sedan sound a bit better exhaust-wise?
i just dont really like the way it sounds. i feel like its such a nice engine/car that it can have a better tone to it.

i heard that there are 4 resonators...if i take out 2 will that help?

will changing the mufflers do anything?
also whats the difference between an x pipe and an h pipe?

if any of these things are worth doing to get a better note please met me know. and also if i should order them from a company online or buit custom by a local shop.
if it helps, i kinda like some drone but not alot. i want it to have a meaner sound if possible.
i know its only a v6 but i feel it can sound nicer that it does now

I have NOT done this yet, but a local custom pipe shop recommended removing the mufflers and replace them with 2" ID resonators and weld the chome dual tips on the end to finish it off. He quoted me $225.00 OTD which is'nt bad.
We have alot of custom muffler shops in SoCal, so it would probably behove me to get a few more thoughts before I pull the trigger.

can anyone tell me the specs and size of the stock mufflers on the 3.8? like the in/out size? actual size? is it oval or round? offset or centered?

Well, if the car is leased, first question should be are you going to purchase it after the lease is over? or turn it in afterwards?? If your not going to keep it after the lease is up, don't waste the time and money. Its going to be a MAJOR headache when its time to turn the car in.

i wouldnt think it would fit the sedan. the sedan has a true dual exhaust and the coupe has a single. also we have 2 mufflers and 2 tips, while the coupe has 1 muffler and 2 tips
