  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How common are rock chips?

I got a rock chip on the hood while driving back from the dealership the first day I got it:mad:

Siberian Ice helps somewhat but I can see it and it drives me crazy. I purchased OEM touch up paint and am going to see if I can blend it some using the Cornell Paint Pen method as seen on Ammo NYC. Based on how the paint is chipped I'm just going to fill in a deeper cut and leave well enough alone.

While looking into PPF I found a local paint and body shop that would redo the entire hood (with a thicker clear coat) for $350. So I decided I'll go that route if I get more/worse chips.

I figure I may have issues with the Paint/Perforation warranty if I were to have the hood redone so I'm hoping between the touch up and some luck with not getting any more rock chips I'll be fine.
