  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I have a 2011 4.6 ... tried the Blue Tooth Dongle for the phone...hated the sound.... so I want to re-locate (sort of) the IPOD connections... or at least extend them to where I want them... which is near the cigareete lighter, or behind the wood / plastic cover of sorts.

I already "tested" this bu adding a USB extender cable to the USB port... and a 3.5mm extender to the Aux... and then connected the Cable to the extended portions... works great.

What I want to do is run the cables along side the shift console area (can tuck from under neath, no problem) ... but I would like the cable to come out of the dash... right above the sliding area for the cigarette lighter... and below the faschia for the DVD panel...

My Cell phone mounts in the DVD slot (never use the DVD) and want the power / cable to be "right there" above the shifter when in park.

Hope this makes sense.

Any instructions on how to get access to this area... or to remove the side covers from the shift console / front area near the glove box... that might give me enough access I think.

Hope this helps.

Yes. Thank you. What is holding the "wood" in place?

Looks like it just pops right off?
