  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I hate asking this question as I once saw the answer posted, but after looking for that post and answer for a couple days, I just can't find it, so here goes.

When using the Navi, and you have an address and map all set, then you decide you are not going to that address after all, (I.E., you change your mind), how do you cancel the routing for that address, without it staying and starting up the next time you go to use the Navi unit?

My previous car had an option where I could cancel. but cant find it here.

Again, sorry for the repeat question.

When in the Map screen, press Enter by depressing the joystick, there is your option to suspend the route.

That unfortunately does not cancel the route. It keeps coming back when you restart the car.

There is no simple way to just cancel the current route.
You need to make oyur way down to the waypoint menue and cancel all active waypoints.

Let's all hope Hyundai will release a software update...

Cheers

Thomas

I just do the voice command: "Cancel Guidance".

Is the voice command the button on the left side of the steering wheel?

If I have to go to the waypoint menu, that is a lot of time with my eyes off the road and on the screen. Dangerous.

Yes, the voice command button is in the middle of the three vertical buttons on the left side of the wheel. Haven't you played around with that function yet? Get to it, man...it works very well in all applications. I use it extensively, not just for phone commands (I try to limit in-town phone usage and reserve it for long freeway runs to my second home), but also for all audio and several other functions. "Disc 2"..."track 6"..."call home"...I love this feature, and it facilitates keeping my eyes where they belong!

OK, I'm going to try it today. While out, I will set the Navi to take me home, then before I get home, I will try the "Cancel Guidance".

BTW, on the day I picked up the car, I hit the voice command button in error, and the thing started talking to me. I just answered whatever it asked me, but because it was the first time driving the car, I wanted to pay more attention to my driving than anything else.

Thanks again.

It works. IT WORKS!

Went out today and on my return, I set the Navi to bring me home. Then while on the road, I hit that voice command button on the left side of the steering wheel, and then said; "Cancel Guidance". Voila. It canceled.

Thanks to all those who answered.
