  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,
I'm replacing a broken front shield cover from the front driver's side seat. I've found diagrams online of some of what I have to do but nothing that describes how to do it. It appears that both the front shield outer cover and the rear shield outer cover have to be removed together but it's not clear how to do that and pulling on the rear cover doesn't feel like it's budging. Here is what I've found. One of them says to use a pry tool but doesn't show where or how to pry it. I don't have any of those but I can definitely get them if I just know how to properly apply them. I just don't want to have to buy another part due to my ignorance.
This is for a 2015 3.8L.
I would post links to where I found the diagrams to show you want I want to remove but it appears that, as a new member, I'm not allowed to post URL and photos until the post gets approved. Hopefully, the year of the car and the part descriptions are enough to help you answer my question.

Thanks

I hate to say it but I took the easy way out. I had to take my car in for an oil change and tried to see if anyone could show me how I could take those covers off. No one was available so I just opted for them to install the parts. Cost me $45 but at least I saved myself further wasted time. I wish I would have been able to share how removing it was accomplished. If someone does figure it out, please share.
