If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I know it's possible, but I don't recall how to do it, but does anyone know how to stop the side view mirrors from tilting down when the car is put in reverse? Thanks

Set the right/left mirror selector switch to the middle position.

the mirrors tilt if the left or right mirror adjustment buttons are selected. if neither is lit, then the mirrors won't tilt when in reverse.

I keep mine from tilting down as well. Can't stand not seeing behind me along the sides of the car.

That is the way my 2010 and 2013 worked, but my 2016 seems to offer only L or R. I cannot find a way to not select either of them. I think it is possible to stop the annoying rotation, but I can't find anything in the owner manual that tells me how to do it.

Does anyone here know how to turn the rotation off on a 2016? Help, please.

On my new 2016 Jenny, That L/R mirror switch will center so that left or right is not selected. You just have to push down one side and it will light up, then push down again and switch will come up to neutral position. May have to play around with it, but it does work that way. No right/left mirror selected, mirrors will not tilt down. Should be no lights on switch and up indicator pushed down. Little stupid way to do it, but it works.

Topster - Thanks. I'll try again. I think mine were set to not rotate when I got the car, but then I adjusted the mirrors and couldn't turn it to neutral.

Thanks for the info. I just returned mine to the center position.
I can't stand when the mirror folds down while backing.

The drop-down side mirror position is great for checking curb location when backing up. Also prevents running over dogs, cats and kiddie cars. How hard is it to re-position that switch as needed?

This worked. It is fixed now. Thanks Topster.

When I used to drive Acuras, there was a better control used. On those cars, you could choose to rotate either, both, or neither mirror. I had mine rotate the R mirror, but not the L. That gave me at least one level view. Given the complexities that are already in the Genesis, this small tweak would not be difficult. OTOH, when I was driving Acuras, we didn't have backup cameras, which are the ultimate solution for seeing where you are going in reverse.

I like that the mirrors tilt down. When I want to back into a parking space it makes it super easy to make sure I'm exactly between the lines. I find that between the rear view mirror, rear view camera, and reverse warning sensors I don't have a need for the side mirrors looking straight back anyway.
