If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm looking at ordering a V8 w/Tech from the factory (dealer doesn't have any and can't say when they will) and I was wondering if anybody had done so and how long it took for your factory order to come in to the dealership.

Any indication would be most welcome...

I ordered my 4.6 with Tech pak back in August. I've been told there's really no such thing as a "factory order" and that you have to wait until the color and equipment you want shows up in the region. Needless to say , I'm still waiting. If I would accept a different color (exterior and interior) I would have one availbale in about three weeks. That's 2 1/2 months to date.

Good Luck!;)

Hey! Somebody prod the Fat Lady!

I "ordered" mine in July, and my car is sitting . . . (wait for it . . . )

In Bruswick, GA for our friends in customs to get it moving. Frustrating, so close, yet so far!

Yikes! Sorry to hear you guys have been waiting so long for your Genesis.

Sales guy at the dealer told me it would take 6-8 weeks for a factory order to come in, I had a feeling he was full of it and, by what you're experiencing, I'm pretty sure he is now.

Oh well, it's not like I can go and help them get moving faster is it?:(

I too believe, after talking to 3 dealers in Mid-Tenn, that there is no such animal as a factory order. I ordered a 4.6 blk/saddle w/tech in mid-August with a cash deposit. On October 13th the first and only 4.6 in Mid-Tenn was delivered. It was a 4.6 blk/blk w/tech and I got the first accept/refuse. I liked it and drove off in it on October 15th. After seeing it I liked the black interior better that the saddle V6 I had driven.

There are many reasons for the long deliveries of the V8's. The 8's were scheduled to be started in August, but Hyundai suffered something like five strikes during the month. The last week in August, the first v8's were finished and shipped. But full production stride was not really hit until all the "papers" were signed on September 26th. By that point Ulsan was in catch up mode, so production was moving towards getting back to the original scheduled deliveries.

My car ("ordered" in July) was actually produced on September 22, and arrived in Georgia on October 23 or 26th. The rest is in the hands of customs and the hauler to get it to the dealer. Typical ocean voyage is 19 -36 days depending upon the port of entry. East coast is farthest, therefore the latest.

I also think that the initial demand for V8's is greater than Hyundai originally anticipated. Six weeks is not impossible, but with the still high demand, it is optimistic. Good or bad, the "fully independant" nature of the Hyundai dealerships doesn't lend itself to "trading" cars between dealers either.

Just ordered a V8 w/tech package in Toronto. My dealer also said 8 weeks, but also promised me a car if it did not arrive when my current car comes off lease in January.
