  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Guys, my 13 G-Spec left headlight lens is cracked and I need to replace it. There are a couple of junkyards near me that have several 1st gen cars that I can possibly get the headlight assembly from but it seems there are numerous versions of the headlight. I looked up the part on Hyundiaparts.com and there are assemblies "With park assist. With hid, with adaptive level, with r-spec." and "With hid, with adaptive, with r-spec." I don't want to drive all the way to the yard only to find the parts are not correct. I am hoping there is a way to use the VIN to determine what options a particular car has. This way I can call the yard and obtain the VIN and look up the car and verify if the headlight would work.

Thank in advance for your help.

From watching old car shows, the "build sheet" shows every spec on the vehicle and are hidden in the vehicles under seats or floor carpets. Not even shore they do them anymore with modern vehicles? Some had metal tags under the hood, The VIN is normally the manufacturer, location and last 6 numbers are the serial number.

Thanks for responding. I remember the old build sheets but like you, I am not sure that is a practice any longer.

In 2013, the R-Spec trim (like all v8's from 2012 onward) only came one way: fully loaded. There were no options. Your car has the fancy adaptive self-leveling HID headlights.
