  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have an 09 Genesis Sedan and, being tall, my seat is all the way back and my belt/pants tend to rub on the panel that splits the front and back seats when I get in and out. The leather on the panel has ripped and pulled away.

Any idea where I could get a replacement panel or what this part would be called for further searching? Would this have to be a custom replacement or could I get an OEM type replacement? Any idea on cost?

Thanks!

Contact a dealer parts department and ask them what the OEM replacement part would cost. If that within a reasonable price range, you can usually get OEM parts online for a 20% discount. There are also places where you can get used parts online.

salvage yards.

Thanks for the input guys. In looking around more online I found a car diagram with OEM part numbers here: http://www.jimellishyundaiparts.com...odel=14684&modelYear=2009&ukey_category=19639

Looking at that, the best I can figure out is part # 85835C (driver side would be left side I assume?).

There are two different parts for that though, one has "INT;M5" and one has "INT;BR,BW". I am guessing that has to do with color, but any idea which is which?

I will call around to some salvage yards, but not sure i'm going to have a lot of luck with that (I don't live in an area with a large number of cars)

If you call Jim Ellis Hyundai (who operates the website), maybe they can tell you.

There are salvage yards that sell parts on the internet. Many body shops get there parts from these sources.

You could also try pulling out the old part. The odds are high that it will have a part number either on a sticker on embossed in the plastic on the back side.

Your local auto upholstery shop could probably take care of it.
