  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I got my new G70 2023 and it has the Key card (credit card looking thing with NFC). Stupid me not knowing what I was doing deleted the saved info on the card via the settings in the car. I did, how ever see that you could re-save the card but every time I tried it told me i needed to meet some pre conditions. However, it didn't say what those were. I looked in the manual, I called the dealer, I called Genesis 3 times and everyone told me I need and Android phone to do this. (its not true)

Here is how you can reset your Key Card if you foolishly delete it like me.

1. Go to your user settings and locate the Key Card menu.
2. Make sure all the digital Key checkboxes are checked.
3. Place your Key card on the charging pad
4. This is the most important. Have BOTH Key FOBs in the car with you and then click save..

Thats it no trips the dealer no Android phone it should resave your NFC card settings..
Lastly this is a 2023 G70 But i would guess it works for older models with this feature. Good luck.

It should be in the manual. My top trim '23 2.0T Sport Prestige does not have the key card, but my '22 Santa Fe Calligraphy does, and using that exact method (in the manual), I saved it at the first try. And yes, I had to buy the key card in that case. With the '22 3.3T Sport Prestige I initially bought (but returned it due to an engine issue), it was already included, and activated.

Finally, one thing I don't like about my SF is that I cannot unlock the vehicle with the key, which makes it less useful than I anticipated. Can you unlock the G70 with it? Just curious, since I never tried before returning it. So I'm leaving the key card hidden inside the SF, in case I ever lose the fob (and open the vehicle with the app). If just the fob/battery dies, then you can use the physical key inside the fob, but it's a PITA to do that on the G70.

I looked all over the manual it is not in there. it talks about it some but not how to set it up if you cleared it. I believe mine was likely set up from the factory but since i was an idiot and erased it this was what i had to do.

You know, it's possible you need a new one, now that I remember. I asked if I could program the G70 3.3T SP key (before I returned it) to my '22 Santa Fe Calligraphy, to only carry one key card for both vehicles, and was told a fat NO. Plus they told me the key cards are a ONE TIME use anyway, so once programmed to a vehicle, they belonged to it forever. That implies if you erase them, they're probably trash. Anyway, if you cannot program it with both fobs in the vehicle, I'd say you need a new one. Unfortunately for you, they're like 100 bucks, when I paid 30 for my Hyundai one. Sorry for the bad news.
