  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all! I have the 2014 Equus and I am needing help with attaching the emergency operating brake lever back on. It fell out of place while I seperated the brakes a bit to replace a stud and now I cannot put the lever back in place because the cable is not out far enough. I've been researching and seems as if this car should have a release cable in the trunk but I don't see it. I do see the tool that is used to release the brake but no cable is available. I've looked all over in and under the car. Is there something Iam missing. I'm not an expert mechanic but I've done the whole airsuspension on this car, also fixed issues on my other cars. These forums have helped in the past so I'm hoping someone can assist. Your help or advice will be greatly appreciate it!

I havent messed with the parking brakes on mine as of yet. However, Im not sure why the cable would not be out far enough. Maybe see if you can actuate it with the switch to push it out or get it far enough to attach? Im going to be doing my rear brakes probably soon so maybe Ill take a look at them.

In the meantime, here is the manual for the EPB repair procedures. Im not sure if it will help, but if you havent looked at it, maybe its worth a peek.

I got it. Thank you! The handbook gives the procedure on how to retract the cable using the shifter.

The handbook, you mean like the one that comes in the glovebox? That's really interesting, I would've never thought to check there! Glad you got it though. :)
