In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello there,

This is my first thread here, just bought my new Genesis, & I'm facing a kind of a challenge.
1 year ago I've rented another Gen & there was an opening between the back seats & the trunk, it was very handy in case you want to get something out of the trunk.
Back to my Gen, I've tried to remove the internal cover which separates the trunk from the back seats.. it seems like it's more complicated than I thought !
Does anyone here have a clew about this ? putting into consideration that my car has back seats with electric-motion..

Thank you

No "clew" here, unless you're going sailing:D

Since you didn't say which year or model of Geneis, I'm guessing that you've got the Genny with the "Orchestra-style" seating in the back?

I've never seen it in person, but I'm guessing that Hyundai eliminated the "pass through" door that's on my 2009 Genny when you fold down the center arm rest/cup holder.

If the "orchestra-style" seating did in fact eliminate the pass-through, then I think you're out of luck. Can anyone who's got O-S seating clue us in?

Handy? The opening in the seat is approximately 5" x 5"; I can barely get my arm through the opening. Other than transporting a length of pipe, I can't imagine ever utilizing the opening.

I think this comes from the same guys who thought up the wine stopper:They have provided a pass-through for a pair of skis. After a brisk downhill run you can pull up in front of the roaring fire in the lodge and pop open your bottle of wine to share with all the assembled ski bunnies.

I've managed to survive almost 70 years without taking up skiing, but I suppose if I got an urge to build a wall or something I could carry a couple of 2X4's. But I guess that would be more of a beer occasion if I were so inclined, and the roaring fire would more likely be in a 55-gallon drum with no ski bunnies in sight.

Yes it was handy in the case of my rented Genesis, I was able to get my jacket from the trunk, & I'm planning to install a small Cans-refrigerator in the back of my trunk, so I can have cold drinks anytime I want!

Thanks ..

Regarding my Genesis model it's 2009 Sedan, I really know nothing about this orchestra-seats name.. but in my Genny you can move the seats back & forth using the console in the back center arm holder ..

Thanks ..

HA HA! Believe it or not, I've used that ALMOST useless little opening once!

I bought a set of bed rails and they fit right in! :p

I don't ski either.

Wait, wait...I've got it!

It's for those of you who may have a dog; you can let fido ride in the trunk and he/she can poke its head through the opening for a pat now and again!

Also handy for snack time!

Seriously though, the can refrigerator is a good idea.

I am 43 and have never skiied either, not even once.
