How to remove shift knob?

I ordered the eqqus shift knob but i cant seem to turn and take off the existing shift knob. Any ideas? Help?

ya interesting. I kinda tried that but I still can't get it off. I guess I need to sit in the middle of the car like that the dude in the pic.

Found this post for you. Sounds like you simply pull straight up... Hope this helps and let us know how you make out.

It sounds like you may need to use a lot of force to pull this SOG off the lever.
You may consider to open the moon roof just in case you get ejected, seriously.

Finally got the oem shift knob off. I sat in the middle of the car on the arm rest with the car safely in neutral and pulled up and it cane off easily. Check it out.

Did you use the cloth wrapped around the old stick to increase friction while pulling it out with some amount of force?
