  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2013 Genesis R-Spec that the driver side power window switches, and others, are failing. In other words, at first they would only not work on occasion but now I'm afraid to lower the driver side window in fear that I won't be able to get it back up. The button that brings in the side mirrors totally stopped working. Fortunately I can operate them by pressing and holding the key fob (unlock or lock). My assumption is the switch assembly is failing. If someone has a better suggestion, I'm all ears.

I've been trying to find instructions on how to take off the door panel for my specific model but I'm not finding any, and instead, I'm finding that just about every make, model, and year of a model has a different procedure (e.g. screw placement) and "got-ya's." So, does anyone know of a video (preferred) or instruction site that shows how to remove the door panels on a 2013 Genesis sedan?

Thanks!

Hey there. In case you didn't figure it out, you need to remove the screw where the door handle is, a plastic screw in front of the door (towards the engine), remove the top plastic trim around the window, then pop off the door trim (there are multiple plastic clips). You might also want to disconnect the switch (2-3 plugs), 2 plugs for the door lock mechanism and speakers.

I plan on replacing this master switch due to my lock/unlock not working properly.

Unfortunately I only have photos from the rear door but it's a very similar process:
