In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. On my 2015 the rubber "track" rocker has cracked and is coming apart. I see you can buy the whole module for $30 range bit my question is how easy or hard is it to replace? Are there any visual instructions online anywhere showing steps to swap out old with new?
thx

Any luck? Mine just started breaking off. Just that little rubber bar. It’s still attached on one of the ends so I could potentially try to glue it, but I live in AZ and summer is coming… glue may not hold up.

Where’d you get your part and how was installation?

Alfer,
Would you share your source for these switches?
I need the cruise module on opposite side of the steering wheel; same issue: lever breaking.
I can't find 'em for under $200

Looks like a lot if intricate work to get this done.

As for source, I just googled around and saw some on Ebay and Amazon

Just did this job today, on '16 3.8.
Thanks to Joegr; very helpful.

Takeaways:
Not a bad job at all if your're one of those comfortable with the fiddle factor required on new cars. Took me 1 hr 30 minutes going very slow.
Don't worry about exactly 4mm diameter tool to push springs aside; I used a Phillips screwdriver at 3.8mm; anything that fits in there will do. On bottom hole you push straight in and help the pad release with your free hand. On the side holes, pry the spring towards the center and help the pad release with the free hand.
To remove the connectors on the air bag, first pry up the yellow rectangular pads; then the connector comes right off.
*** Important: after removing the big bolt, mark the position of the wheel to the shaft with a Sharpie before removing it.
The factory manual forgets about the wires attached to the back cover. You have to remove and un-wire the haptic controller box, plus get the multipin connectors off the R and L remote control pads, to get the back cover off. I never figured out how to get the connector off the LH Stereo pad, but cover was free enough to let me replace the RH pad easily.
Use Loctite, and 29-36 ft lbs on the big bolt going back.
I didn't lose any pre-sets, satellite favorites, seat memory, NAV history; CD even remembered correct chapter and verse of my audio book.
Had to manually close the trunk to reset the power opener.

It was worth it! That broken rubber nub was unsightly and uncomfortable.
