  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So today I test drove and was about to buy a 2015 Genesis sedan ultimate. So while doing the numbers dance, it was listed at $24k w/ 41k miles, I asked about the HPP. I was going to buy the Platinum protection. The salesman told me that as a service member (army) I can't purchase an extended warranty. From anyone or company. Has anyone else heard this? USAA even offers an extended warranty. It can't be state policy either.

Sounds illegal actually. I can see it restricted to USA only if you plan to take the car with you if stationed overseas.

Just had another Hyundai dealership call me back and he said the same thing. I feel this will have the opposite of whatever this law had intended.

Sounds odd. I'm not active duty, but am a veteran. During my numbers dance, they used the veteran status to lower the price of the HPP when I balked at the initial price.
