  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was looking for HPP platinum plan and I was quoted $1398 with $50 deductible.

7 year 75K miles

Now there were two options either direct or through Zurich (insurance company). If I select direct the price is $1800. They are both the same plan through HPP. With Zurich I pay 10% down and will be charged the rest in 12 installments through HPP interest free.

I am wondering if there is a catch here or have any of you folks have a contact that I can get a better deal?
Thanks
Kim

PS I have a 2013 Genesis 5.0 and I think I am going to have problems with the engine, with only 10K miles it had misfire, burns oil and had less transmission oil which the dealer could not explain.

Jim Ellis Hyundai in Georgia sold me my extended warranty for $1200. I have already used it on the audio system. I have a $100 deductible though

There are no shortage of posts on the HPP around here and yet even more opinions about them. Bullet points to be mindful of for first time buyers:

Make sure your being sold a HPP and not some other third party warranty. Just because you are buying it from a Hyundai dealer does not mean that it is HPP.

Price varies greatly from Dealer to Dealer. Shop around but be advised if you did not get it at the time when you bought the car there may be a bit of problem getting a payment plan for just the HPP.

Don't wait too long as the price for the HPP is directly connected to the mileage. The higher the mileage the higher the price.

Be sure to weight the years vs miles. Do you rack up high miles? How long are you looking to keep the car? Plus the HPP is transferable and will be a plus if you go to sell her later on.

Miles that are currently on the car will be subtracted from the original term 75,000-10,000=65,000 but years start from when you buy it.

Good luck and happy hunting!
