  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Called my Hyundai dealer that sold my 2015 Ultimate and that has been doing my service since new, to order a part today, and was told by the Parts Department that they are no longer able to purchase Genesis Parts. That I would have to order them from a Genesis Dealer. What a bunch of crap! I still have

Pretty normal. 2nd Gen was carried into the Genesis line with the 2017 models. They might be able to source 1st gen parts though.

LOL. I can buy Cadillac Escalade parts at my local Chevy dealer which means that your Hyundai dealer is full of crap. I have never heard that sister car dealership part departments from the same automaker like Hyundai/Genesis or Lexus/Toyota can not order parts among each other.

Hell, I can order a Lexus oil filter from my local Toyota dealership for my wife' Lexus RX350, however no need since it uses the same one as the V6 Highlander($5.00). But, I can pay more for the Lexus brand oil filter ($7.00) to be ordered at the Toyota dealership if I so choose. Same filter different part numbers.

Sounds like BS to me that your local Hyundai parts guy can not order Genesis parts.

Actually sounds wrong. The 2015 Genesis is still a Hyundai model, so the Hyundai dealer must still provide parts for it.

Be smart and stop in there. You may have spoken to the new guy who knows little.

I agree sounds wrong to me! My Genesis is a Hyundai. NOT a Genesis branded car. I called the Genesis dealer to get a quote on the part I wanted and the price went from $16 at Hyundai to $60 at Genesis. Pure bs. If this is what’s happening it will KILL the Genesis brand.

They are wrong. You have a Hyundai, not a Genesis. Hyundai dealers can get any parts for Genesis up through the 2018 model year. Come 2019, if it was specific to that model year or newer, it has to go through a Genesis dealer. I still order most of my Genesis parts through Hyundai. Pretty much all parts that are specific to a G70 have to go through Genesis. Most of the 2019 and newer G80 and G90 parts I can get through Hyundai. There are some electrical parts that are only on a 2019+ that I have to get through Genesis. Along with 2020 G90 parts.

Yeah, I call BS on that as well... Just went to the Hyundai dealer yesterday to pick up an oil filter for my 2015 5.0 and it had "Genesis" on the box.

Same here. My local Hyundai dealer parts guy also gave me a Genesis oil filter in a black box the last I stop in for one. However, this year I have been ordering my Genesis oil filters online so I do not know if the dealership stop giving them out for whatever reason.
