  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai does it again with Feb. sales........

It will be interesting to see how things go this month with the Genesis coupe hitting the lots [:D]

Those numbers are very interesting! What's even more interesting to me is that when you/we see the evening news, they report the slow sales of domestic brands, and lower numbers of Toyota, Honda, etc., but they NEVER show the superb numbers of Hyundai/Kia....wonder why that is??!!!

Maybe size matters!;) Hyundai/Kia is probably way down the list when you start lining up all of the manufacturers sold in the US based on volume. My guess would be the numbers are small in comparison to the big boys. Just a hunch.

A raising tide lifts all boats. Hyundai will be on that boat when the economy turn and will be in even a better position than the others to continue to grow and create new products while the other would be playing catch-up

I like how they inserted an exclamation mark in parentheses for the Amanti, that was hilarious. I'm a little shock too.

Hyundai found the perfect time to offer a low cost luxury car that so many people could afford. Not only that, the Hyundai/Kia group offer such low cost cars that could compete with or even defeat the quality in Hondas and Toyotas. Awesome job Hyundai!

You mention the Kia Amanti. I have a friend who is a GM retiree, who purchased a Kia Amanti a few years ago. He loved it. Lots of luxury for what he paid. Got great gas milage. He only wished that it had a little more power.
Well, about a year ago, he traded it for (of all things) a POS Pontiac G6. I guess he had to go back to GM, but that Amanti was a lot better than his present G6.

Today's Wall St. Journal featured the Genesis in its periodic "Hot Off The Lot" blurb They cite Power Information Network, a division of JD Powers, as the source:

* "February sales were 1263 placing the Genesis among the top five vehicles in the mid-size premium conventional segment in sales thus far in 2009"

* Most popular color: Black
* Top model traded in: Hyundai Azera
* Avg Down Payment: $6214
* Avg Monthly Payment: $605*

* based on 60 month loan
